Impinge is my first attempt at writing a piece for both an acoustic instrument and electronic sounds.  Th electronic sounds come from the sampling of a single piano chord and that source is manipulated and layered throughout the work.  The double bass begins playing a melodic line over the top, but there is a point where the roles are reversed and the bass become the accompaniment to the electronic sounds.  It is inspired by how art can change the way we percieve things.  An effect so powerful that we may never be able to look at them the same again.
